43 including former Minister Ajaya Chaurasiya diagnosed with COVID-19



KATHMANDU: Former Minister Ajaya Chaurasiya has tested positive for coronavirus. Chaurasiya, who is also the Central Committee member of Nepali Congress, was confirmed infected during test at the laboratory of  Narayani Hospital.

He had become the Minister of State for Local Development in 2058 BS.

As many as 43 people including Chaurasiya were diagnosed with the coronavirus on Thursday morning.

Those confirmed cases are 40 people from Birgunj alone, one each from Rautahat, Bara, and Mahottari districts, according to Dr Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, the medical superintendent at Narayani Hospital.

Earlier, Inter Affairs and Law Minister of Province 2 Gyanendra Yadav was reported to have been infected with the coronavirus.
