PABSON drops protest as it receives green signal from govt

KATHMANDU: Private school operators have dropped their protests saying that their negotiation with the government turned out to be positive.

With the negotiation settled, they said they will continue with the online classes. In a meeting with Minister for Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokharel, school operators received a green signal from the minister for our demands, said Chairman of Private and Boarding Schools Organizations (PABSON) Tika Ram Puri.

Private school operators been protesting saying that they were barred from collecting fee during the lockdown.

They have been demanding that they should be allowed to charge fee since the Nepali month Baisak despite online classes started only from Asar.

Puri said the government has to provide relief package to school operators to pay their bank interest and rent of school buildings and be allowed to admit students.
