Govt facing heaps of challenges: NCP leader Bista

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Gokarna Bista has said that the government faces heaps of challenges.

Speaking at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Saturday, he said the government should move forward by coordinating at the highest level to meet the challenges.

He said that the government should focus on making agricultural production self-reliant, giving priority to industrial production and making self-reliant in production.

“There is potential for employment in agricultural production. It is important to focus on making agriculture self-reliant and giving priority to industrial production. If we do not protect the products here, neither employment opportunities will be created nor will the national economy of the country be made self-reliant. We need to work hard on this. ”

Former Minister Bista further said that 1.5 to 2 million Nepalis will lose their jobs due to coronavirus crisis.

He said that it was necessary to think about how to create employment in the country, adding that there was a lot of potential for employment in agriculture.

Stating that it was necessary to rescue Nepalis who have gone for foreign employment in Nepal, he urged to focus on creating employment for them in Nepal.
