Biplav outfit leader Bandhu Chand released after 14 months



KATHMANDU: Leader of the outlawed Netra Bikram Chand alias Biplav outfit Bandhu Chand has been released after 14 months.

She is the central Chairperson of a woman wing affiliated to the outfit.

Chand, who was arrested from Achham before the government banned the outfit, has been released on the order of Kapilvastu District Court.

Earlier, courts in Achham, Bake, Bardiya, Kailali and Dang had ordered her release.

Police had been arresting her shortly after the court ordered her release. The law enforcement agency had arrested her from one court premises and was prosecuting her in another court.
