Graft case filed against rural municipality Chairman

KATHMANDU: The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case of corruption against Chairperson of Junichande rural municipality of Jajarkot district, Krishna Bahadur KC, at the Special Court today.

The case was filed against KC, on the charge of seeking Rs 800 thousand as a bribe for the facilitation of payment after the completion of a road project.

He was charged along with principal at Janata basic school, Chandra Bahadur Ale. Information to this was shared by CIAA Spokesperson Pradip Kumar Koirala. Chair KC and school principal Ale have been named as defendants in another case for bargaining with service seekers for money after road contraction. This case implicated them with the corruption amount of Rs. 2.5 million.

Moreover, corruption charge is filed at Special Court against office assistant at Public Health Office, Dhading, Hari Bahadur Hamal and paralegal officer Narayan Shrestha.

The case is filed against Hamal, claiming Rs 3.4 million from him for corruption. In connection with this, Chief of District Public Health, Dr. Naresh Pratap KC, has also been charged in a corruption case.
