Nepal to perform coronavirus screening at 37 border points with India

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to perform screening for coronavirus at 37 border entry points along the Nepal-India border.

A meeting of a high-level committee led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defense Ishwor Pokharel decided to start screening to combat the spread of coronavirus.

India has reported a total of 29 coronavirus cases as of Thursday.

There is a high chance of the spread of coronavirus due to unrestricted flow of people between the countries as they share open borders.

The meeting also decided to further systematize screening at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA).

Currently, the only international airport has been conducting coronavirus screening of all air passengers.
