Coronavirus suspect admitted to Teku Hospital flees

KATHMANDU: A Nepali national,who had been admitted to the Shukraraaj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital (Teku) following suspicion of coronavirus infection, has escaped.

He along with other four people had been quarantined at the hospital after they were suspected with the new virus on Wednesday.

“One of the Nepalis who had been admitted to Teku Hospital has escaped,” said a doctor at the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division, adding, “Police have launched a manhunt to nab him.

Three Nepalis – who recently returned from South Korea, Qatar, UAE each – and one French had been admitted to the hospital.

They were scheduled to undergo screening for coronavirus on Thursday, according to Dr Anup Bastola.
