Nepal-India meet agrees to collaborate on issues of bilateral interests



KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Nepal-India district-level coordination committee concluded in Baitadi agreeing on a seven-point agreement on issues of bilateral interests.

The two sides agreed on working together on issues such as peace and security, law and order, disaster management, construction of a motorable bridge in Jhulaghat, cross-border criminal activities, coronavirus effect, landslides, pension, among others, informed Chief District Office of Baitadi, Ananda Poudel.

According to CDO Poudel, both sides agreed to coordinate to control criminal activities at the borders, exchange information during and prior to disasters, and set up health-desks as a precaution measure against coronavirus, among others.

The meeting was participated by the District Magistrate of Pithauragad district Dr Bijaya Kumar Jogdande, Baitadi CDO Poudel, Darchula CDO Yadunath Poudel, among other officials.

The meeting of the committee will be held every three months.
