BAGDAD: Iraqi lawmakers on Sunday passed a resolution calling for foreign troops to leave Iraq after the United States killed a top Iranian general in a drone strike in Baghdad last week.

The Iraq also asked the government to work to ban foreign forces from using Iraqi airspace, airspace and water for any reason, international media reported.

The US has some 5,000 military personnel in Iraq, as advisers.

In an extraordinary session, Iraqi lawmakers voted for a resolution asking the government to end an agreement with the US. (Agencies)
