Over 200,000 tourists arrive Nepal in 10 months



KATHMANDU: As many as 218,173 tourists have visited Nepal in the first 10 months of 2020 (January to October).

According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the number of tourists arriving in Nepal had declined since March due to the pandemic.

The government also postponed visas to visit Nepal as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic broke out in Nepal. Recently, visas have been issued to tourists visiting Nepal.

Due to COVID-19, the number of foreigners visiting Nepal has decreased by 98 percent.

The number of tourists visiting Nepal in January was 79,685 and in February it was 11,400. Accordingly, 34,025 foreigners visited Nepal in March. However, the visa was suspended after that. However, some tourists came to

Nepal with visas through diplomatic missions.

According to the board, 13 foreigners came to Nepal in April, 30 in May, 100 in June, 195 in July, 268 in August, 582 in September, and 1,874 in October.

However, the number of tourists visiting Nepal in 2019 was 1.197 million.
