Nepali national football team leaves for Dhaka



KATHMANDU: Nepali National Football team today left for Bangladesh for a friendly match with a Bangladeshi power. The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) bade a farewell to the 34-member team.

The Nepali team is playing a friendly match with Bangladesh for the selection of FIFA World Cup second round. The team comprises eight new players as some of the regular national players tested positive for COVID-19.

National player Rohit Chand also failed to participate in the match due to an injury. The team will play against Bangladeshi National team on November 13 and 17. The team is under the supervision of coach Bal Gopal Maharjan. Nepal is going to play with Bangladeshi team after SAF Championship in 2018. Nepal had defeated Bangladeshi team in the match two years ago.

The national team comprises Ajit Bhandari, Ananta Tamang, Anjan Bista, Arik Bista, Bharat Khawas, Bikas Khawas, Bikram Lama, Bimal Rana, Bishal Shrestha, Darshan Gurung, Deep Karki, Dilen Loktan, George Prince Karki and Kiran Chemjong. Similarly, other members are Navayug Shrestha, Pujan Uparkoti, Ranjit Dhimal, Ravi Paswan, Saroj Dahal, Sesehang Aangdembe, Suvas Gurung, Sujal Shrestha, Suman Aryal, Tej Tamang, and Tshering Gurung. The assistant coach is Kiran Shrestha and Goalkeeper trainer is Bikas Malla for the team Nepal.
