Nepali peacekeepers’ team leaves for South Sudan



KATHMANDU: A contingent of Nepal Army (NA) peacekeepers has left for South Sudan today at the call of the United Nations on a rotation basis.

According to the Nepal Army Directorate of Public Relations and Information, 78 NA personnel of the first contingent had left for the African country to join the peacekeeping mission.

The NA sources said security measures and protocols have been fully adopted while sending the peacekeepers to the mission as part of the policy to continue peacekeeping mission amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, a team of the Nepali peacekeepers is returning home on Tuesday after completing the stated tenure.
