11 Indians held while sneaking thru border



MAHOTTARI: Police have arrested 11 people of Muslim community at Nepal-India border while they were sneaking into southern neighbor violating lockdown on Monday morning.

A joint squad of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force caught 11 people of Muslim community while they were crossing the Nepal-India border via Manarasiswa Municipality-9 Bathnaha.

The arrested people have been identified as Indian nationals from Kolkata of Indian State of West Bengal, informed Baliram Raya, ward chairman.

They have been making drums and utensils out of zinc sheet at Kolhuwa Bageya village in Ekdara rural municipality-5 in Mahottari district, according to Raya.

They were going back home stealthily early today after they ran out of daily essentials including foodstuffs due to the prolonged lockdown.

They have been kept at Police Post Kattikataiya, said Raya.
