PM Oli expresses solidarity to China on national day of mourning



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Oli has expressed his solidarity to the government and people of China as the country on Saturday marks a national day of mourning for those who lost their lives in the coronavirus pandemic.

Taking to Twitter PM Oli said, “On behalf of the government and people of Nepal as well as on my own, I express solidarity to the Government and people of China on the occasion of today’s National Day of Mourning in memory of the valiant heroes who sacrificed their precious lives in fighting against COVID-19.”


People across China paid their respects to those they lost with three minutes of silence at 10 am. This is the first time China has held a national day of mourning for a public health crisis.

China has reported 81,639 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and 3,326 deaths.
