Inferno guts 42 houses in Kapilvastu



KAPILVASTU: Forty two houses were reduced to ashes as an inferno broke out in Bijayanagar rural municipality-1 in the district on Friday afternoon.

The fire spread to the other houses after it broke out in Kashiram Yadav’s thatched house.

However, no human casualties were reported in the incident, according to Police Inspector of Area Police Office, Ganeshpur.

Locals have said that the fire destroyed property worth around Rs 10 million.

The incidents of fire take a toll across the country every year during the dry season.
