Dr Khatiwada sworn in as Finance Minister



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari today administered the oath of office and secrecy to Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada as the Minister of Finance.

He has assumed his office today.

Dr Khatiwada has been re-appointed to the post today following his resignation from the position as his term as a member of the National Assembly expired on Tuesday.

He had resigned from the post on Tuesday before the expiry of the term.

The Constitution of Nepal allows the Prime Minister to appoint an individual as a minister from outside the Parliament provided the minister is assured of membership of either of the two houses in the next six months.
