Lawmaker Yadav’s sarcasm: Let’s empty Parliament to keep rescued Nepalis from Wuhan

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker of Socialist Party Nepal Pradeep Yadav has suggested that the Nepalis to be rescued from Wuhan be kept in the Parliament if the government failed to find a place to quarantine them.

Speaking during today’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, lawmaker Yadav gave a sarcastic remark suggesting the government for the same.

“If the government has failed to find a place for them, let’s keep them here emptying the Parliament House, and run the session in a tent outside,” he said.

Yadav had another option to keep the rescued Nepalis at Hyatt Hotel. “Isn’t it high time that we saved the lives of the Nepalis?” he queried suggesting the government to empty the Hyatt Hotel, which he claimed, has captured some 304 ropanis of government land.

Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, however, was even more sarcastic on lawmaker Yadav for his remarks. “Was that a genuine suggestion or an exercise of freedom of expression?” he queried.

Minister Dhakal said that the government would keep the rescued Nepalis far from human settlements. “The government is trying to find such a place,” he said.

The government has already decided to rescue Nepali people, mostly students, from the Chinese city of Wuhan by sending a chartered flight there.
