DPM Pokharel meets President Bhandari

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Secretariat Member supporting Prime Minister KP Oli in the ongoing dispute in the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP), Ishwor Pokharel reached the President’s residence Sheetal Niwas on Friday morning.

According to sources, Pokharel had gone to Khumaltar to meet party executive chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ prior to turning in to meet President Bidya Devi Bhandari.

With the majority of members putting pressure on PM Oli to resign from both the post of Prime Minister and party Chairmen, PM Oli has intensified the exercise to ensure his victory by circumventing the decision of the majority of the party committee.

PM Oli had a two-hour discussion with President Bhandari on Thursday. And after PM Oli another Chairman Prachanda had reached the President’s residence yesterday.

Despite the criticism about the President’s active interest in the party conflict, President Bhandari is believed to be trying her best to make smooth ground for PM Oli.
