Nepali assaulted with a sharp weapon in Germany

KATHMANDU: A Nepali national sustained critical injures in a clash that cropped up over a financial dispute at Bergedorf in Hamburg in Germany.

The injured is 53-year-old Bijaya Khadka alias Krishna KC.

KC who went to Hari Bista (45)’s house with his 37-year-old wife Nitu engaged in a heated discussion on Wednesday.

In the clash, Bista attacked both KC and his wife with an axe used to chop meat in the kitchen, according local media reports. KC has sustained a deep cut to his head.

Critically injured KC was rushed to a nearby hospital where he had to undergo surgery for his head injury.

Bista was removed to a general ward from the operation theatre and his health condition is improving, according to the reports.

Four hours after the incident, Bista himself surrendered to the police. German police has handed over the assailant to the court. Further investigation is underway.

KC is the owner of Sushi Restaurant while Bista had come to Germany from Spain few months ago.
