Dahal, Oli urge Deuba to stop protest in Butwal



KATHMANDU: As protests led by the main opposition party, Nepali Congress (NC), continue in Butwal, Chairman of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Executive Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Prime Minister KP Oli have urged NC leadership to stop the protest there.

Dahal and PM Oli phoned NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba today urging him to stop the protests as the name and capital of the State 5 will be decided by the State Assembly in favor of the proposal made by the NCP government.

It should be noted that the ruling NCP has decided to vote in favor of the proposal tabled by the State 5 Government for the capital and name of the province.

The party has already issued a whip to its party members to vote in favor of the proposal that has been registered on Friday.

The government had last week registered a proposal naming the province as Lumbini and Bhalubang of Dang as the permanent capital.
