Prohibitory order in Butwal: Irate demonstrators, silent city corners (In pics)



BUTWAL: Demonstrations were staged in Butwal today as well after the provincial government decided to pick Dang as the permanent capital of the Province 5.

Demonstrators blocked the main road of the city by burning tires demanding to make Butwal the permanent capital. Irate protesters have also vandalized some vehicles.

Demonstrators even chanted slogans against the provincial government saying that the capital is being picked in the place that has proper infrastructures.

The Province 5 government has registered a proposal in the provincial assembly to make Deukhuri the permanent capital of the province.

Minister for Internal Affairs and Law of the province government Kul Prasad KC presented the proposal before the province assembly.

Earlier, a meeting of the provincial Council of Ministers on Friday morning passed a proposal to make Deukhuri the permanent capital of the province, said Minister KC.

Likewise, it has been decided to name the province Lumbini Province.
