Kathmandu Valley witnesses 62 new COVID-19 cases



KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley confirmed 62 fresh coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours, Ministry of Health and Population said.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Tuesday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that 48 cases have been reported in Kathmandu, one in Lalitpur and 13 in Bhaktapur.

Tests conducted at National Public Health Laboratory confirmed infection in 38 from Kathmandu and 11 from Bhaktapur, five from Kathmandu tested positive at TU Teaching Hospital and one from Bhaktapur at Nepal Police Hospital.

Likewise, two from Kathmandu and one from Lalitpur at Star Hospital, three from Kathmandu at Bidh Laboratory and one from Bhaktapur at Nepal Korea Friendship Municipality Hospital.

Meanwhile, the country’s coronavirus tally has reached 21,009 after 259 people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours.
