Karnali Province’s coronavirus recovery rate over 80 percent



KARNALI: The number of people recovering from Coronavirus in Karnali State has surpassed the number of infected. On Friday alone, 51 infected including two women returned home after recovery.

Of them 31 were undergoing treatment at the Dullu hospital in Dailekh, 12 in the State hospital, six in the Salkot isolation and two in the Tanthikandh isolation centre in Dailekh, according to chief of the State Health Services Division Dr Laxmi Narayan Tiwari.

The total number of people who have recovered from the deadly virus so far has reached 1,178.

Presently, the number of active case in Karnali is 305. With eight new cases reported in Narayan municipality and one in Dungeswar on Friday, the total number of infected has reached 1,483 in the State.

Of them, 105 are locally infected while the remaining were people who had returned from neighbouring India.

The locally infected includes health workers and security personnel and people’s representatives working in the quarantine and isolation centres.

Of them, 23 are health workers, 53 security personnel, three people’s representatives and 15 locals, said health education officer of the Division, Nawaraj Kandel. However, most of them have recovered.

The death toll from Coronavirus infection in Karnali remains six so far. RSS
