NAC wide-body flying to Australia, China and South Korea
The national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has continued chartered and cargo flights to the international destinations during the nationwide lockdown against the coronavirus.
It will leave for Sydney carrying over 250 people and return empty. Besides, it is scheduled to operate a cargo flight on TIA-Beijing route to bring a shipment of medical equipment for private suppliers.
It is said the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) South Korea is taking Nepali migrant workers back to Korea through the NAC chartered flight. Those workers arrived here for holidays before the enforcement of lockdown.
Nepal Telecom introduces ‘e-education’ package
Nepal Telecom has introduced and implemented the ‘e-education’ package to aid schools and universities in conducting online teaching-learning activities during the lockdown enforced by the government to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Under this package, Nepal Telecom will provide six GB data will be made available for Rs 260 and 15 GB data would be provided for Rs 500 which can be used within 28 days.
Of the total 6GB data available for Rs 260, 3GB data can be used for five hours from 5 am to 10 am every day while the remaining 3GB data can be used at any time to the mobile number recommended by the educational institutions concerned.
Similarly, of the 15GB data provided for Rs 500 to be used for 28 days, 6GB data can be used only for five hours from 5 am to 10 am every day while the remaining 9GB data can be used any time.
70 percent industries found flouting government decision
Seventy percent of industries are found to have defied the government’s decision to fully pay workers of formal sectors for the month of Chaitra (March-April).
During a primary survey on the status of distribution of remuneration and operation of industries during lockdown by the Whole Trade Union Nepal (WHIN), only 30 percent of industries were found giving the full payment of March-April to their workers.
The survey covers 219 industries associated with the General Federation of Nepalese Trade Unions in the five States with industrial density.
The study finding is that 87 workers in State-1, 58 percent in State-2, 68 percent in Bagmati State, 68 percent in Gandaki State and a hundred percent of workers in State-5 were not given payment on a regular basis.
China Mobile and Huawei deliver world’s highest 5G
The legendary 5G connectivity has been taken to a new height by China Mobile and Huawei jointly.
This has been done by bringing the network to the summit of Mount Everest upon the completion of world’s highest 5G base station at an altitude of 6,500 meters.
Together with the launch of the Gigabit optical fibre network at the attitude of 6,500 meters, Huawei enables China Mobile to run its dual Gigabit network on Mount Everest, read a press release issued on Thursday.
