KATHMANDU: When the ruling party is unable to make its formal view on Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant despite government’s commitment to ratify the compact and facilitate the grant, Upendra Yadav former Foreign Minister and incumbent Chair of Socialist Party has reiterated the need of passing the compact without further delay.
Talking to Khabarhub, he said that the political parties should not be divided on welcoming such a massive grant meant for infrastructure development.
“This is a grant, not debt. I don’t understand why political parties can fuss about accepting the such grant directly exhilarating the developmental and the benefit of all Nepali in it.” Yadav said.
Yadav demanded that MCC should be ratified and led to implementation without delay.
“Which government should be in power is secondary issue, it is something we have to decide internally, but in case of such grave issues related with national interest, we should stand together.” Yadav added stressing the importance of national unity in such issues.
