SC for curtailing number of lawyers for each case

Each party advised to confine number of lawyers to two



KATHMANDU: As a measure to limit the crowd during the hearing, the Supreme Court (SC) has notified all not to include more than two lawyers per party per case for the court business from Wednesday onward.

Issuing a notice on Tuesday, the supreme judicial body of the nation has notified all parties of the case to ensure that only two lawyers including the main lawyer and an apprentice attend the court during the hearing.

In the cases where more than two lawyers or advocates are involved, the SC has advised to come up with pleading notes.

The court activities have shrunk due to the coronavirus pandemic since March 22.

Citing that the lockdown or prohibitory orders issued to curb the COVID-19 pandemic has been lifted and the court activities have been shrunk since long, the supreme judicial authority has vowed to take all necessary measures to resume the long –halted services.
