KATHMANDU: Former Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) leader Arjun Narasingha KC has described the government’s decision to remove ‘Federal Democratic Republic’ from the official name of Nepal as an unfortunate and bad omen of the future crisis of ‘republic’ nation.

Responding after the government decision of September 27 made public recently, NC leader KC has regarded the incident as a bad omen.

He has questioned the relevance of such a decision now and also pointed out that the decision is against Article 4 of the Constitution of Nepal 2015.

“What makes the government violate the constitution and change the name and why should the Ministry of Law direct line authorities not to write ‘Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal’ and confine the name to ‘Nepal’ alone?” NC leader KC has written in his Tuesday tweet.
