Six succumb to COVID-19, death toll hits 257



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded six new coronavirus-related deaths in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 257, the Ministry of Health and Population stated.

In a regular press briefing on Thursday afternoon, Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that two males and four females have died of the pandemic.

A 40-year-old woman from Chitwan, a 40-year-old woman from Bhaktapur, a 92-year-old woman from Tanahun and a 77-year-old woman from Rupandehi have succumbed to the pandemic.

Likewise, a 77-year-old man from Sindhupalchowk and a 65-year-old man from Rupandehi died of the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Nepal recorded 1,228 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. With the new cases, Nepal’s caseload has reached 42,877

Similarly, coronavirus has been confirmed on 445 people in Kathmandu valley in the last 24 hours.
