1,954 police personnel test positve for COVID-19



KATHMANDU: As many as 1,954 police personnel have been infected with COVID-19 across the country as of Thursday morning.

Out of them, 813 have recovered and resumed their duties while 1,141 are undergoing treatment at isolation centers.

According to the statistics provided by the Nepal Police Headquarters, Naxal, the Kathmandu Valley has the highest number of police personnel infected with COVID-19 compared to other places.

There are 556 infected police officials in the Kathmandu Valley.

According to Police Spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kuver Kadayat, 84 people have been infected at the Police Headquarters and Police Hospital alone.

Police personnel working in all the seven states have also been infected with the coronavirus. The highest number of 198 policemen has been infected in Province 1.

Similarly, 115 policemen have been infected in Province 2, 55 in Bagmati Province, 87 in Gandaki Province, 78 in Province 5, 37 in Karnali Province and 13 in Far Western Province.

So far, a total of 41,649 people have been infected in Nepal and 23,290 have recovered. Similarly, 251 people died from coronavirus, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
