418 cases in past 24 hrs take Nepal’s COVID-19 caseload to 20,750

KATHMANDU: A total of 418 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in the past 24 hours, Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population said.

Speaking at a regular press briefing on Monday afternoon, Ministry’s Spokesperson Dr. Jageshwor Gautam said that Nepal’s coronavirus caseload has reached 20,750 with the new cases.

A total of 7,637 samples were tested in the past 24 hours, he said.

Meanwhile, 358 COVID-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals and isolation centers after recovery. A total of 14,961 have recovered across the country so far.

A total of 875 people have returned home after recovery in Province 1, 3,176 in Province 2, 543 in Bagmati Province, 1,330 in Gandaki Province, 4,066 in Province 5, 1,723 in Karnali Province and 3,248 in Sudurpaschim Province so far, he shared.

At present, 5,732 people are in isolation and 10,452 are in quarantines.

Nepal’s death toll stands at 57, Spokesperson Dr. Gautam said.
