COVID-19: Govt urges children and elderly to stay indoors

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population has urged the elderlies and children to stay indoors.

The government has asked the children below 12 years of age and those above sixty years not to come out their houses after the number of infection cases increased in an alarming rate in the country of late.

The children and elderlies, especially those living in the crowded settlements, have been advised not to come out of their houses as they are vulnerable to coronavirus infections, said Dr Jageshwor Gautam, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population.

Meanwhile, the government has banned Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) tests in the country following complaints from all quarters over their efficiency.

“Provincial government, local governments and hospitals across the country have been directed to stop RDT screening,” said Gautam.
