KMC to introduce digital signature from July 16



KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) is all set to introduce digital signature to approve map of building construction from July 16.

This will replace the traditional manual system.

Now that clients and customers can apply for the registration of map of the building construction online and will be even able to monitor their progress from anywhere.

The registration process will proceed automatically if it meets set standards, according to Ek Narayan Aryal, administrative chief officer at the KMC.

Aryal said that a customer can even get the certificates of map of building construction approved within 30 days of registration.

However, the applicants are required to present at the office for only verification and get certificates and they are informed of the progress through SMS to their mobile phones.

He said that the clients can pay the charges by depositing the required amount in KMC’s bank account.

According to KMC, approval of map of building construction requires 14 different documents, including a copy of landownership certificate and a copy of receipt for paying revenue for current fiscal year.
