Maharajgunj municipality appropriates budget over Rs 1 bln



KAPILVASTU: The Maharajgunj municipality in Kapilvastu has appropriated its budget of Rs 1.07 billion for the fiscal year 2020/21.

The seventh municipal assembly appropriated a budget of Rs 547.6 million towards capitalized and Rs 110 million towards recurrent category, according to Maharajgunj Mayor Abdul Kalam.

He stated that the municipality has allocated Rs 271.9 million towards conditional grant and Rs 150 million towards social security.

Deputy Mayor Shuvawati Kurmi added that the municipal assembly appropriated Rs 7.5 million each to all 11 wards of the municipality.

She informed that the budget appropriations have been mainly made in the areas of physical infrastructure development, education, health, agriculture and livestock, among others.
