89 COVID-19 suspects put in isolation across Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Health and Population on Saturday stated that 89 COVID-19 suspects across the country including four in Kathmandu Valley have been put in isolation.

Speaking at a regular press briefing, Spokesperson at the Ministry Dr. Bikash Devkota said that 1,252 samples were tested in the past 24 hours and no new case was found.

According to Spokesperson Dr. Devkota, Nepal has so far carried out 13,098 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test and 48,529 Rapid Diagnostic Tests (RDTs).

A total of 5,282 in Province 1, 5,687 in Province 2, 5,515 in Bagmati, 5,411 in Gandaki, 4,240 in Province 5, 5,571 in Karnali and 13,823 in Far Western Province have been tested by RDT so far.

There are currently 22,978 people in quarantine across the country.

A total of 2,865 in Province 1, 1,391 in Province 2, 511 in Bagmati, 632 in Gandaki, 11,304 in Province 5, 3,275 in Karnali and 3,000 in the Far West Province are currently in quarantine.

Out of the total 59 infected, 43 are undergoing treatment at various hospitals while the remaining 16 have been discharged.
