COVID-19 kills 47, 272, infects 938, 373 people across globe

KATHMANDU: With the coronavirus going pandemic across the world, the death toll has surged to 47, 272 as of Thursday morning.

According to latest figures collated by Johns Hopkins University, the death toll has reached 47, 272 and 4, 880 new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.

A total of 938, 373 have been infected so far after 76, 667 new cases are reported in the last 24 hours.

According to the reports, 193, 177 among those infected have recovered after treatment while the condition of 35, 487 among those undergoing treatment is critical. Currently, 693,844 people are undergoing treatment at various hospitals across the world.

Italy has the highest number of deaths from the coronavirus. According to the latest figures collated by Worldometer, the death toll from the COVID-19 has reached 13, 155 in Italy after 727 died in the last 24 hours.

Similarly, the total infection cases have surged to 110,574 whereas 4,782 were infected in a single day.

A total of 16, 847 among those infected with the new virus have recovered after treatment.

Likewise, the condition of 4,035 among 80,572 who are currently undergoing treatment is critical.

The  coronavirus  was first reported in Italy on January 29.

Similarly, coronavirus has taken a heavy toll in America, claiming over 1,000 people and infecting 26,109 in the last 24 hours.

The total death toll in America has reached 5,099 and 1,046 died in a single day. With 26,109 new infection cases, the total number of cases has reached 213, 372 as of Thursday morning.

Similarly, Spain has reported 923 deaths due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of deaths to 9,387.

Similarly, the total number of infection cases has reached 104, 118 and 8, 195 were infected in a single day. According to latest figures collated by Worldometer, 22,647 have recovered after treatment.

Similarly, the condition of 5,872 among 72,084, who are currently undergoing treatment, is critical. The first novel virus case had been detected in Spain on January 30.
