RAJBIRAJ: The District Administration Office (DAO), Saptari, has lifted the curfew in Rajbiraj Municipality and Bodebarsain Municipality and imposed prohibitory orders in the two areas until further notice.
According to a notice issued by Chief District Officer Shyam Krishna Thapa, the decision was taken during a meeting of the District Security Committee.
The prohibitory orders ban gatherings of more than five people, as well as meetings, processions, sit-ins, demonstrations, and other public assemblies in the designated areas.
The administration has urged the public not to violate the orders issued under Section 6(3a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028.
In Rajbiraj Municipality, the restricted area extends from Khando Khola in the east to Jamuni Thalahi on the Postal Highway in the west, Basbitti Chowk on Rupani Road in the north, and the Koshi Paschim Main Canal in the south.
In Bodebarsain Municipality, the prohibited zone covers the area from Khadak Bridge on the Postal Highway in the east to Pritampur Chowk in the west, Negada Chowk in the north, and Manraja Chowk in the south.
The District Administration Office has appealed to residents to remain calm and cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace, security, and social harmony in the district. The prohibitory orders will remain in effect until further notice, the administration said.
