KATHMANDU: Lawmakers at the National Assembly (NA) today discussed in principle on the proposal seeking consideration on the 3rd amendment bill on Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).
The bill was presented by Minister for Health and Population, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, on behalf of the Prime Minister at NA session today.
Taking part in the discussion, lawmaker Prakash Panth said the provision that the public officials need not submit property was wrong and needed correction.
Likewise, lawmaker Brisesh Chandra Lal claimed that the bill was brought in a way it would encourage wrong activities.
Lal said the bill must speak on CIAA’s transparency.
Lawmakers Jitendra Narayan Dev and Pramila Kumari said that the CIAA itself should be corruption free.
