Education Minister stresses on promotion of Nepali, English languages

KATHMANDU: Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel on Sunday emphasized the need for equally promoting the use of English and Nepali languages.

Speaking at a program in Kathmandu today, Education Minister Pokhrel said the Nepali language and English language should be promoted simultaneously.

Stating that the Nepali language was becoming weaker due to the growing use of English, Minister Pokhrel said Nepalis need to have the knowledge of English as well as other languages.

He added that the realization of the vision for ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ would be possible only if the educational sector is developed.

Minister Pokhrel also informed that the state had accorded priority to the promotion of technology-friendly education saying the internet has currently been the source of learning for students.
