Alleged sexual abuser SSP Rana surrenders



KATHMANDU: SSP Saurav Shumsher Rana, alleged of sexual abuse, has surrendered in Sunsari on Sunday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs had suspended SSP Rana as soon as the news about his sexual abuse was made public on Thursday.

A day after Rana’s suspension, the victim had filed a complaint against Rana at the Sunsari Police on Friday.

After the allegation against Rana, a three-member probe committee was formed under the coordination of Indu Ghimire, an Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The committee had recommended to further investigate the issue. Alleged Rana is in the custody of Sunsari District Police.
