Speaker Sapkota reiterates commitment to maintaining HoR dignity

KATHMANDU: The newly-elected Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Agni Prasad Sapkota, on Sunday reiterated his commitment to maintaining the dignity of the HoR.

Sapkota also expressed his firm determination to work in the development, expansion and strengthening of democracy.

He said this at a program organized on Sunday morning by the International Relations Committee of the parliament to bid him farewell as well as to congratulate him on the election of the Speaker.

Speaker Sapkota said he would not compromise with anyone against patriotism and integrity.

The Committee members, meanwhile, said they were proud to have another member of the committee elected to the Speaker.

The members also appreciated the role Sapkota played for the country and the people with his involvement in the democratic movement, the peace process, and constitution-making.
