Traffic resumes in Araniko Highway

SINDHUPALCHOWK: Traffic has resumed in the Araniko Highway where traffic movement had been disrupted since July 8.

The Araniko Highway that was damaged after landslide and flooding on July 8 has come into operation after 26 days.

The 39-km road section of the Highway, stretching from Kothe of Balefi Rural Municipality to Liping of Tatopani in Sindhupalchowk district had incurred damages in the monsoon-induced disasters.

The damaged road was repaired by the Road Division Office in collaboration with the local road entrepreneurs and concerned agencies, said Division Road Office, Dolakha Chief Bijaya Kumar Mahato.

More than 200 containers were stocked in Tatopani Custom Point’s yard for four weeks.

Those containers were brought to Nepal from Khasa of Tibet. The flood had swept bridges over the streams along the Highway.
