Gandaki Province adds 20 new cases, tally reaches 1,505



POKHARA: A total of 20 fresh coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Gandaki Province on Sunday morning.

According to a statement issued by the Province Health Directorate, eight people from Syangja, six from Kaski, three from Lamjung, two from Tanahun and one from Baglung have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

The total cases in the Province stand at 1,505 with the fresh cases.

A test conducted at the Pokhara Institute of Health Sciences confirmed the infection in three men and two women of Rupa Rural Municipality and a man from Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Similarly, a test conducted at the Tuberculosis Treatment Center in Pokhara has found infection in five men of Waling Municipality and two women and one man of Putlibazar Municipality of Syangja.

Two men from Sundarbazar and one man from Dordi of Lamjung have also been confirmed infected and one man from Myagde and one from Aanbukhaireni in Tanahun have been diagnosed positive, the Directorate stated.

Likewise, a man from Baglung Municipality of Baglung has also been found to have coronavirus.

The Directorate has stated that preparations are being made to take all the infected people to isolation centers.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in the province has reached 1,245 so far and four people have died due to the infection.
