Parsa confirms 45 fresh coronavirus cases

BIRGUNJ: Parsa confirmed 45 new cases on Saturday night taking the total cases in the district to 507.

A PCR test conducted at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital in Birgunj last night confirmed infection in 45 people, including 14 women and 31 men. The newly infected are 5-60 years old.

According to Chief Medical Superintendent of Narayani Hospital Dr. Madan Upadhyaya, seven people were found infected in paid tests and others in mass testing and contact tracing.

Of the 45 people confirmed infected last night, 43 are from Birgunj Metropolitan City.

The infection has been confirmed in 16 persons of Birgunj Metropolitan City-11, 15 persons of ward no 4, four persons of ward no 13, one each from wards 3, 8 and 18 and five persons of Birgunj-25 Sirsia dry port.

Likewise, one person from Nirmalabasti of Thori Rural Municipality and one person from Sukhuwa Prasauni Rural municipality-2 were also found to have contracted coronavirus.

Earlier, 64 people, including a lawmaker, were found infected in the district on Friday night.
