Lightning kills four women in Bara



BARA: Four women died and seven others sustained injuries after being struck by lightning in Bara district on Thursday morning.

The deceased have been identified as 35-year-old Asha Devi Mahato and Hamila Khatun, 45 of Kalaiya Sub Metropolitan City.

Similarly, the other deceased include 30-year-old Indu Devi Mahato and 40-year-old Sunarpati Devi Mahato of Feta of the district, said DSP Gautam Mishra of District Police Office, Bara.

The lighting struck at 7:45 am today.

The injured are locals Bachawa Devi, Rajpati Devi, Shree Kanta Devi, Uma Devi, Lilawati Devi, Sapita Devi and Shila Devi, said police. The injured are undergoing treatment at Narayani Hospital, Birgunj.
