KATHMANDU: Seven Summit Treks, a trekking company, has distributed relief packages worth Rs 7 million to mountain climbers and tourism workers of Sankhuwasabha district currently living in Kathmandu.
It provided relief packages to 1,300 families (more than 6500 people) of Sankhuwasabha living in Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur, students studying in Kathmandu, and patients, among others.
The company provided 25 kg of rice and Rs. 500 for a family (three members) and 25 kg of rice and Rs 1,000 to the families with more than four members.
The Seven Summits Treks said it will be making their own donation of food to their staff involved in mountaineering.
Likewise, the treks provided relief materials to 360 families of tourism workers (around 850 people) living in the Valley.
“The Seven Summit family is pleased to be able to help. I would like to inform you that rice and one thousand rupees as well as additional amount will be given according to the need of the lockdown victims,” Tashi Lakpa Sherpa, Managing Director of the Treks said.
