Country has sought Hindu state and monarchy: Kamal Thapa

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Kamal Thapa has said that the need for a Hindu state and monarchy is increasing in the country.

He said that his party will take ahead the movement for restoring the Hindu state and monarchy and the party’s General Convention side by side.

Speaking at an interaction organized by the party’s central secretariat on Tuesday, Thapa said that the people were upset due to the short-sightedness and inaction of the government.

“The weak and failed role of the Nepali Congress as the opposition has added to the frustration,” Thapa said, “It is necessary to move forward to establish RPP as an alternative force.”

He said that widespread corruption, unemployment, and religious conversion had plunged the country into a quagmire of problems.

Thapa said that the need for a Hindu state and monarchy was increasing day by day.

“As the people want a change, the party should move forward with new vigor and energy according to the sentiments of the people,” he said, “To complete the convention successfully; you have to complete the work within the time limit.”

RPP is a monarchist and Hindu nationalist political party in Nepal that has been pitching for the restoration of Nepal as a Hindu state and monarchy.

It should be noted that demonstrations have been held in different parts of the country of late demanding restoration of the monarchy.
