Over 400 journalists infected with COVID-19 in Nepal; 4 deaths



KATHMANDU: As many as four journalists have died of coronavirus infection in Nepal.

According to the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ), over 400 journalists have been infected with pandemic virus so far.

The Federation has urged the government to make free PCR test for journalists working in high-risk reporting and make appropriate arrangements for the treatment of all infected journalists.

“We urge the government to make arrangements for free PCR testing and treatment of ministers, parliamentarians and high-ranking government employees in the field of high risk of infection, free PCR testing for media personnel and the general public, as well as for the treatment of all infected citizens,” Ramesh Bista, Secretary at FNJ said.
