Inmate at Central Jail dies of coronavirus



KATHMANDU: Central Jail has witnessed the death of four jailbirds in the last 24 hours.

According to Laxmi Prasad Baskota, the Chief of Central Jail, one of the inmates found coronavirus positive was undergoing treatment in the Kathmandu-based Mega Hospital and died on Monday.

Three more died on Tuesday morning while undergoing treatment in Bir Hospital. The coronavirus positive jailbird is a male from Kanchanpur. Other three jailbirds are also the males aged 58-64 years brought to Kathmandu for treatment from outside the Valley.

The number of coronavirus cases among the inmates is even hiking lately. There are 52 coronavirus positive patients in Central Jail alone.
