COVID-19: 64 including lawmaker Pradeep Yadav infected in Parsa

BIRGUNJ: As many as 64 people including Pradeep Yadav, a lawmaker to the House of Representatives from Parsa 1, have tested positive for coronavirus in Parsa district.

They were confirmed infected during PCR tests conducted at the laboratory of Narayani Hospital on Friday night, said Dr. Madan Kumar Upadhyaya, the superintendent at Narayani Hospital.

Lawmaker Yadav had given his swab on Friday morning. His bodyguard and his driver have also contracted coronavirus.

A doctor is among those infected. “As many as 64 people including three women aged 15 to 68 years of age have been infected with coronavirus,” said Dr. Upadhyaya, adding, “Lawmaker Yadav has also tested positive for coronavirus.”

Yadav in a Facebook status has informed that he has been infected with the coronavirus.
