Chhantyal’s demise: HoR passes condolence motion



KATHMANDU: The House of Representatives (HoR) has endorsed the condolence motion on the death of its member Gyan Kumari Chhantyal.

The Lower House session today unanimously accepted the motion presented by Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota.

The session, paying tributes to the late member, extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

The lawmaker passed away this morning in course of her treatment for heart disease at the Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre. She was 63.

She was elected to the PR member during the 2074 BS House of Representatives’ election from the Nepali Congress.

She had also served as the member in the second Constituent Assembly representing the Baglung constituency-3.

The leader is recognized for her engagements in social and rural development and democratic and republic movements in the country.

The HoR is to meet again at 1:00 am on July 6.
